Elijah meets his Grandpop and Mommom

Elijah got to meet his great-grandparents on my mom's side today! They loved him from the minute they walked in the door. My Mommom held him the entire time! She is in love with this baby!
Elijah with is Mommom and Grandpop.
They spoiled Elijah of course! They got him these cute I love mommy and daddy shirts. He is also got a bunch of other clothes!
After they left, Aunt Liz and Aunt Jenna thought it would be fun to use his tummy time mat. He did great and loved it. He was holding his head up and trying to hold his entire body up. I think this little man is a little like his mama and very type A!

1 Month

I can't believe how time has flown! Elijah is already one month. I know I am a day behind on my post, but have had some very busy days and I haven't gotten around to posting.
So what is Eli up to:
- He is starting to hold his head up
- He sleeps 4-4.5 hours at a time
- Eating 3 oz.
- Starting to wear 0-3 month clothes
- Loves to read and listen to music
Overall, He is such a chill baby and we couldn't have been blessed with anyone better! We praise God every day for his life!

New Pics of Elijah

Here are bunch of random pics of Eli... This one I took last night before Nana and Pappy came over the babysit! They had their first time of watching him and he did great.
Last Sunday our friends Nate and Marcy came over to visit and meet Elijah. They came to the hospital, but were unable to hold at the time. Elijah loved their visit!

This is just one of him sleeping in his lamb seat, which we have grown to love! We put it all over the house and just hang out with him!
Elijah got his picture taken with Santa on Thursday night. We were able to take him to a student home for free and was so wide awake. It was adorable. He just looked at Santa and laid there! I am sure next year will be a totally different story!

A few pics

A cute snuggly pic of Eli all ready for bed! He was so cute today all bundled up!
Uncle Todd came for a visit and prayed for Elijah before he went to bed. Something Mommy and Daddy have being doing every night before we leave. He had a great day of eating, pooping, and keeping his temp up until the evening. So he is making some small gains. Please pray that tonight they can lower his bed temp and raise the top off so he can come home on Thursday. We are ready to love this guy at home!

A Quiet Day

We had a really quiet day today and it was so nice! Elijah is progressing nicely. We are just waiting for him to get into crib mode and out of an isolet. As soon as that happens for 48 hrs. we are all good to go. I can't wait to finally be at our house all day and just relax! Sorry for no picture tonight I am just updating using K's labtop to make our night go faster so I can hit the sack!

A New Day

Today was another day of hanging out in the NICU. He is doing so well! We are just waiting for him to keep his temperature up to a normal number and he will be released. This I think has been the hardest part for me is just waiting on his little body. He is such a cutie and I just want to bring him home so badly! The nurse/practitioner that we saw today said he looks great and will go home soon! Please pray that I will be able to wait on his timing to go home and that I will be to contain myself. Also pray that he continues to gain weight and get stronger each day. Thank you again for all of your visits, calls, concerns, and notes of encouragement. They mean to much to come home and read them all!

A Fabulous Day

Elijah did great today! He has started nursing and opening his eyes more, which you will see from the pictures. Tomorrow if all goes well they will start to take away his i.v. fluid and transfer him totally to breast milk. This is one step closer to bringing him home. PRAISE THE LORD! He is also a little jaundice, but we most likely be off the "tanning bed" by tomorrow. Thank you for all of your prayers, thoughts and concerns. We are truly blessed to have wonderful friends and family. He is one sweet little guy who has a lot of people praying for him. One prayer request for tomorrow is that he would be able to come off the i.v. and the jaundice treatment. We can't wait to share him with all of you, but for now here are few pics from today!

An update!

Today I had a great day with Elijah! Too bad daddy had to head out to make the big bucks! He is growing and getting so much stronger everyday! They have removed his feeding tube and has taken all of his feedings by bottle or breast today! That is a huge step for him. He did have a couple of alarms last night, but we were reassured that is normal for preemies and that will hopefully out grown this, but please pray! He was rather alert and awake, which was awesome to see him staring us in the eye today! Here are a couple of quick pics I am super tired and need to get in bed.

More Pics...

Daddy taking Eli's temp! We have to do every time we feed him and diaper him.
He was resting on me after he had fed! Such a cutie I do have to say!

Finally a pic of the three of us! Since his birth was such a whirlwind we did not have all of our tech. stuff ready to go!

One last pic to leave you with. He had a great day! He took three feeding by mouth and they upped his feeding and took him off of his antibiotics so he is doing really well. He is becoming a little jaundice and was holding his breath a little this afternoon so please pray that he will continue to drink full feeding and get bigger and stronger! Thanks for all of your thoughts, prayers, and well wishes so far! I am hoping to update this everyday so everyone can stay informed on his progress.

Elijah Anderson Pierce is here!

Elijah made his appearance on Saturday Morning November 28th at 3:05 pm. He was 5lbs. and 1 oz. and 18 inches long. He was quite the suprise and we were not expecting him to show up this early, but He is doing really well. He will be in the Nicu for a couple more weeks, but after that he will be home! I am going home today, but will be back every day to be will our little guy. Please pray that he will grown and become stronger every day! Enjoy the pictures and I will post on his birthstory tomorrow!
